Take the high-speed train to Jincheng East (晋城东站), on the Zhengzhou–Taiyuan line. For Huangcheng Xiangfu, ride a city bus to the East Coach Station and take the one-yuan tourist line, about an hour to the site, or book the scenic area's direct coach. For Yuhuang and Qinglian temples, take a taxi.
How do you reach Jincheng?
Jincheng East is a stop on the Zhengzhou–Taiyuan high-speed railway. China Railway's Zhengzhou bureau gives fastest times of 52 minutes from Zhengzhou and 1 hour 26 minutes from Taiyuan, with through trains from many other cities. That makes Jincheng an easy add-on from Henan, or a stop on a south-eastern loop of Shanxi. Check 12306 for current timetables.
How do you get from the station to Huangcheng Xiangfu?
Three options, from cheapest:
Bus and tourist line. From the station bus stop, buses 51, 55 or 19 run to the East Coach Station (客运东站). From there, the Huangcheng tourist service, listed by the railway as route 201 and by the city bus company as tourist line 1, runs to the site. The city bus company says all 25 tourist lines cost 1 yuan and start at the East Coach Station. Allow about an hour from the coach station.
Scenic-area direct coach. The railway says you can book a Jincheng East–Huangcheng Xiangfu coach through the scenic area's official mini-program.
Taxi or ride-hailing. Fastest and simplest with luggage. Agree on the return trip or confirm that you can call a car back.
During Golden Week 2026, the bus company also ran one-yuan coaches straight from the station to Huangcheng Xiangfu, with departures at 9:00 and 11:00, and to a couple of other sites via Yuhuang Temple. That was a holiday service, so do not count on it at other times.
What about the temples?
Yuhuang Temple is on the city's east side, Qinglian about 17 km south-east. Neither is on a tourist line we could confirm, so take a taxi or ride-hailing car, and combine them in one half day. Book both through the Jincheng Museum's WeChat account first. See Yuhuang Temple and Qinglian Temple.
At Huangcheng itself
Buses and cars stop at the visitor centre, about 1.8 km from the gate. Since late May 2026 the sightseeing bus is included in both main tickets. With the four-site ticket, shuttles also run to Guoyu and Haihui. See Huangcheng Xiangfu.
What should you check?
Checked October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). 12306 for trains, and Jincheng Public Transport's notices (WeChat “大美太行晋城游”) for bus routes win over this page. The 1-yuan fare and route numbers come from the city and railway notices cited in our sources; times change by season. Carry a passport for rail and scenic tickets. The approach is the same as Datong to Yingxian: rail to the hub, then one road trip at a time.
