Landed in Shanghai and need a wallet that works at metro gates and noodle stalls? Use this page for Shanghai airport one-stop desks only. The full nationwide how-to — Alipay, WeChat Pay, foreign cards, UnionPay, Alipay+, fees and limits — lives on mobile payments for foreigners.
Checked October 2026 against english.shanghai.gov.cn Payments in Shanghai pages. Desks, fees and limits change; if a counter or the live app disagrees with anything below, the official version wins.
Where can I get payment help on arrival in Shanghai?
One-stop service centers in the international arrival halls of Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminals 1 and 2 and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport Terminal 1 help with payment-app setup, mobile communication, transport and tourism apps. Shanghai also lists UnionPay customer service 95516 (mainland) and the public hotline 12345 (English support available), plus [email protected] for International Services Shanghai.
We do not invent matching desks for other cities here. Set the wallet up before you fly when you can — see the China-wide mobile payment guide.
